  1. This is a response to Ali's book on May 1 at 8:06. I get what she's saying how she doesn't like the end of her book. I remember when I read The Giver, I didn't like the ending either. I'm a person who loves to read. I don't like it when I read a really good book and then the ending is really dumb or doesn't make sense. Even though you enjoyed the book, you probably won't remember much about it if you don't like the ending. I want a book that has my interest even after I read the last page. I understand what Ali is saying.

  3. My book is very interesting. Jon and Lilly are very close now. Jon tells a story about how his brother died. Jon's father and his brother, Sib, were very into tennis. Sib had a schlorship that he earned playing tennis. Jon tells Lilly that he feels guilty because he says he killed his brother. He got into a car in his driveway when he was little and took it out of park.Sib was laying at the bottom of the driveway and got run over. Since this happened, Jon's dad makes him play tennis. He's trying to turn Jon into Sib. Lilly is surprised to hear this, but it makes something click. The two of them end up kissing. Peaches sees them and since she's jealous, she tells on them and gets them in trouble. Peaches is the type of person I don't like at all. She's one of those people who tries to get what she wants even if she knows she's not allowed to have it. She is my least favorite character. A few days later, Jon gets upset with his dad and runs to the dock. It's foggy outside and he takes one of Lilly's fathers boats. He is never seen again. Lilly is heartbroken. I understand what it feels like to lose someone you love. I feel bad for her, but there's nothing you can do to mend a broken heart.

  4. I am responding to Ali's journal May 1 2011 at 6:03pm.

I feel the same way because when I am reading a really good book I can't put it down. If I stop reading it then I would be wondering what happens to the character or the problems of the story until I start reading it again. I my book it is a true story and the main character is trying to help out a poor town. I can't stop reading it because I want to know what happens after (even though I already finished it). When I read really good book it's almost like I have a TV in my mind and I see the characters the way I see them. When I have a good book I usually end up reading it again, even though I know how it ends.

  5. In my book the main character Christopher starts his investigation on the dog that was murdered. I think that the dog’s owner killed the dog. It says thats the fork that was ussed to kill the dog is in the owenrs shed and was locked. So I think that either it was her or someone close to her that had a key to it. I feel like she will cover it up and try to blame it on Christopher like she has been already.

  6. Christopher goes around asking people questions. He stops at people’s houses to ask them questions about the dog that was killed. I think this is a smart idea for his investigation. I don’t think the people like that he is doing this though. I think it is going to take awhile for him to get enough information to find out who did it. I think he should watch the lady’s house where the dog was killed or other people houses with dogs because he could come back for another dog. Then he would be able to find out who killed the first dog.

  7. This is a response to Meg's blog on April 29 2011 at 9:35am.

I have also read all of the Nicholas Sparks books and A Bend is the Road is a really good book. I thought it was really sad and at first I didn't want to read it because it was sad. Once I started reading it I could not put it down becasue I wanted to know what happened. In the beginning I didn't want to read it also because it was slow but once it got better I liked it. Megen was right that you never know who really killed his wife and that it was different to hear what a guys point of view is during a romance book. I enjoyed the book.

  8. This is a response to Selena’s blog on April 29, 9:39 AM. I understand how Selena feels with a book ,with a boring start to it, but I kept reading those books and usually they get better at some point. It just sucks that they start out badly. I can also relate to the part about when you don’t like that two characters are a couple. That has happened in some of the books I have read, like when I read Gone with the Wind, I hated that Scarlett had went with some guys and didn’t even have real feelings for them. She just was using them, so I felt bad for those characters.

  9. This is a response to Alla’s blog on April 29, 11:29 AM. I understand when you don’t understand the way characters think in a book. I read not that long ago, this series about this Casteel family, VC Andrews is the author. I hated how the main character thought at certain points. She would act so stupidly, I got really annoyed at how she acted sometimes. I didn’t really understand how she didn’t have much common sense, considering the fact she came from a home where you had to be so responsible, plus she was really smart, so why did she act and thought so stupidly?

  10. Selena, April 29, 9:52- Your book, the Van Alan Legacy, sounds different but interesting. The names of the characters are fantastic except for Jack. Like you got Oliver which is amazing, Schylar is awesome, Raphael reminds me of turtles, and then you got Jack. What’s up with that? Did your author run out of names? I think you would like your book a million times more if you did not have a character named Jack. Instead, Jack should have been Xavier. If it was then I think I might have read it but nope, it’s not. The name Jack reminds me of rats. Like really fat rats that won’t die no matter how much poison or traps you put out for them. Jack just not a good name for a character.

  11. Meg, May 9, 9:33- Now you got a book with some awesome names! I agree with you that there is nothing you can do to mend a broken heart but there are things you can do to help ease the pain. By the way you describe your character Peaches, it makes me not like her either. I know a bunch of people just like that and I get so annoyed with them. Don’t you think they would realize how obnoxious they are being? I feel bad for your character Jon who has to live with the guilt of killing his brother. I almost cried when you described why Jon feels guilty for his brother’s death. I know if I was Jon I would become an emotional wreck every day and I would be afraid to even get into the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

  12. While reading chapter 25, I got mad because when Sam and Frankie went to the party. Sam went off  everything was fine, and Frankie w having fun at the party. Then when she got back with jake from their walk on the beach, Frankie was sitting on the stairs and was mad because of Sam not telling her about Matt and them dating. First of all I feel that Frankie had no right of going through Sam's journal, and Sam has a right to be mad. I also feel for Frankie, because I would be upset if my best friend was dating my brother and I didn't know. But still for Frankie to do that and then through the journal/diary in to the ocean was to much, because now Sam lost Matt all the way. While reading that part I actually started to cry cuz it felt like I was losing someone also.

  13. My book so far is one of the best books I have read. It takes situations that a high school teenager may encounter and mixes them up with romance to a max. I love how I can connect with the book in most ways. While reading I can always think of how I do or somewhat relate to the topic. An example is that when Matt finally tells Sam his feelings for her, I can connect because I have had that feeling before. Also when she loses Matt and feels her world is over, I have felt that to with suddenly losing my cousin not to long ago. I felt that life could just end now and that nothing matters and I will never be able to go on, just like how Sam felt. Reading books that I connect with I feel are a lot easier to read and you can really think and feel the book that way.

  14. While reading about the fight and the aftermath of what happened with Sam and Frankie, I started to think how this would affect the ending of the book. so I decide to make my own ending based on how the fight ended and my knowledge of the characters. I figured since Frankie was so close to her brother by Sam not telling her about the relationship they weren't going to stay friends and when they got home from the vacation they would no longer talk and go their separate ways. Then I also thought that since Frankie and Sam were so close Sam would try to explain everything to Frankie and they would understand and they would stay friends and work through everything out and they would be closer than ever.

  15. While getting to the end of the book, it shows how much something that happened so long ago can affect friendships greatly. Reading about how Sam and Frankie felt after the fight made me think that if, I had a secret that I thought could hurt are friendship would I tell or not? Then I got in to thinking that if it was really bad just like Sam I would keep it a secret. Also with Matt telling Sam to keep it a secret, because he wanted to tell Frankie. Just makes it so much harder to tell, either go against what the man you loved said even though he is dead or tell your best friend in the hopes she doesn't get mad. I believe Sam made the best choice in the hard situation she was faced with.

  16. In my book, Malcolm and Olivia just got to Foxworth Hall. As Malcolm showed Olivia around, he said no one can ever go into his mother's room. He never talks about his mom and I think he hates her, but at the same time loves her. I think he hates her because she left Malcolm and his father, but he loves her because she's his mother. Olivia and Malcolm don't share a room even though they are married. I think Olivia is finally starting to realize that Malcolm doesn't love her. He wants her to help take care of his money and things. Olivia is a really good accountant. I also think Malcolm just wants Olivia to have his kids so he can have someone take over his work, like it's a family business.

  17. This is a response to Megen's post on May 9th at 9:33 am.

Megen's main character feels guilty about his brother's death. My main character, Malcolm, feels guilty about his mother leaving him and his father. Megen's character is Jon. Jon's dad is making Jon play tennis and become like his brother. Malcolm's dad blamed everything on Malcolm after his mother left them. To punish Malcolm, his father would make him sit in the attic for hours. Punishing him like this made him feel like it really was his fault his mother left. In both cases, I don't think it was their fault. They were both kids when these things happened.

  18. So as I got further in The Van Alen Legacy I got extremely bored. I just couldn't pay attention to it anymore. So I decided to start a new book. It's title is Werewolf Rising. Now I am sure the title puts many people off. But I promise, this book is worth the read. Its short fast and amazing so I would suggest it to most people. But so far Luc (the main character), has been experiencing some weird changes in his physical abilities, Hr also has some problems with his uncle and is starting to see that his uncle may not have told him the truth about his origins.

  19. When I was reading Werewolf Rising I stated to wonder if the book would have been better if it was in the veiw of a girl instead of Luc. Would the Uncle have been any nicer? But I would guess that the book would get alot more attention since boys are known to read books based on sports and scifi (not all, just from what I understand). And girls tend to read more about romance. So to me, even though this is an amazing book, this book is not really geared to any specific gender or even age for that matter.

  21. I have to say that Sarah and Miles are a cute couple in how they are so different and the same at the same time; like how she’s a big city girl and he is more small town, and they think the same in how they view the world because they both went through traumatic experiences whether a divorce or death of spouse. Although, I have to say their relationship and this book, is a little “cheesy” for my taste, and I really can’t think of any better word to describe it. Sarah and Miles go to a bar and place pool and Sarah already know how to play, but he pretends not to know so he can put him arms around her. I kind of wanted to stop reading because I knew it was going to keep this romance thing going, but I really just want to know who killed Mile’s wife rather than about Sarah. I don’t really like how Sarah is Mile’s son’s teacher. That seems like it should be against the law or something. I think if I had a parent dating one of my teacher’s I would be so creeped out. I think Miles and Sarah are cute, but they just aren't clicking for me.

  22. The mother of Sarah reminds me of one of those store clerks that don’t leave you alone because they want to sell you something or the stereotypical overprotective mother on TV shows. Before Sarah goes on her first date with Miles, her mother is calling her practically every five seconds telling her thinks like don’t wear too much make up, make sure your nylons don’t have a run, or to bring a jacket because it is cold outside and she will get pneumonia. If this was my mother I would go crazy. Also, before she even had this date, her mom would call telling her, indirectly, that she is getting older and she needs a boyfriend, because she wants grandchildren. Sarah is so laid back, I think I would have unplugged my phone and told her to stop calling. I am afraid to keep reading to when she calls her mom and tells her about the date. I can see her creeping on Miles and immediately wanting to meet him and ask him awkward questions and tell him embarrassing stories about Sarah.

  23. The main theme of the story reminds me a lot of my life, and the life of many people I know. Marisa's parents get a divorce. Kind of a lot of people I know have divorced parents, or some kind of step parents. I was too young to remember what happened, unlike Marisa. She's a freshman and her parents just decided on a divorce now, after 20 years of a great marriage. I know what Marisa is going through, and I'm sure a lot of other people can relate as well.

  24. Now that I've almost read the whole book, I feel Marisa should just forget about Derek and date Nash. Her and Nash have a ton in common. They're both really smart and like each other's company. It seems they are always hanging out, whether they're doing their chemistry project or just having a movie night. Marisa trusts Nash and tells him just about everything. Nash also tells Marisa his problems and asks her for advice. I think they'd be an adorable couple. Yeah, Marisa thinks Derek's so perfect, but he's still talking to Sierra, his ex, and ditching Marisa for her. Nash would never do anything to hurt her.

  25. This is a response to Alicia's blog on May 9, 2011 at 9:53 AM.
In her blog, Alicia says that her book gets really exciting and suspenseful towards the middle and end of it. I completely agree about my book. It's hard to put down. I really like the suspense and excitement. I love reading suspenseful, exciting books.

  26. In the most recent chapter of my book the author, Micheal Perry is talking about the many mistakes and screw uos he has seen other do, as well as himself, in the medical field. I really like the way he tells these stroies in a way I can also relate them to some of the dumb mistakes I have made in my life. I also enjoy that he presents them in a funny, yet interesting way to make me keep wanting to read more stories in my book. I hope that the rest of the chapters were as good as this one so I continue to enjoy reading this book.

  27. The next section in my book is called Sarah. It is about the main charecter's brother, Jed's girlfriend. They are telling the story about the first time they met his brother's girlfriend. I can relate to this lik the first time I met my sister's fiance. They are now getting married like Jed and Sarah do in the book. I felt happy when it said his brother was getting his dream of starting to live the life he always wanted. It all turned bad when one day Micheal gets a scan that there was an accident involving a young girl. He knows right away that it is Sarah. It made me really sad that the first responders that showed up were all now related to Sarah.
